JPCL Engineering is thrilled to announce our latest venture, the Tonnelle Avenue Overpass Project, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to enhancing urban infrastructure and connectivity. Awarded the prestigious role of providing Construction Management and Construction Inspection services, this project stands at the forefront of the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), promising to redefine Hudson County's transportation landscape.

Set in North Bergen, New Jersey, the Tonnelle Avenue Overpass Project is a bold initiative designed to construct a new roadway bridge over a newly established railroad right-of-way (ROW). This strategic development will carry U.S. Routes 1 and 9 over the ROW, directly connecting Tonnelle Avenue to the new tunnel portal at the western slope of the New Jersey Palisades. The integration of Tonnelle Avenue into the broader transportation framework is a crucial step towards streamlining access and enhancing connectivity within the region.

The project champions three core objectives essential for the Hudson Tunnel Project's success. It establishes the necessary ROW for the new Northeast Corridor (NEC) alignment under Tonnelle Avenue, facilitates access for tunnel boring machines essential for constructing the new Hudson River Tunnel, and connects the eastern and western segments of the Tonnelle Avenue Staging Site. This staging site is the backbone of the Hudson Tunnel Project, serving as the primary staging ground for its entirety.

Our involvement in the Tonnelle Avenue Overpass Project is not just a testament to our engineering prowess but also to our dedication to public welfare and sustainable development. Anticipated outcomes of the project include enhanced traffic safety, improved travel time reliability, congestion relief, better emergency response times, and the facilitation of smoother access for construction materials and personnel. These benefits collectively contribute to reducing travel time delays, supporting job creation, and fostering economic growth in the region.
